Oct 18, 2012 · Hi Jack, The 44W is certainly the most widely used structural steel here in Canada. Every shop weld it everyday without any problem associated with the grade of material. I know this won't help you much but, unless there is a problem with this specific heat of material, the answer to your crack problem is elsewhere.
